Lauren L. Rogers leads “Communicating the Power” a values-based, communication arts empowerment mission including its well-being initiative: ‘The Identity Projects©’ ~ serving Southwest Ohio exclusively since 2006. The mission now serves collaborations that employ prevention and intervention methodologies to tackle social concerns through diverse community partnerships*.

At a community-wide level,“Communicating the Power” crafts and facilitates communications, awareness and outreach for empowerment programs that employ Community Problem-Oriented Policing (CPOP), collaborating in a multi-disciplinary team approach.

At a program level, “The Identity Projects” have served a variety of women’s, youth and families partnerships* [with programs to promote youth safety and wellness, prevent violence against women, including peer-based prostitution recovery] through spearheading communication arts and literacy empowerment efforts.

Adult Intervention modalities include **“Write~Reflections©” guided journaling groups and writing readiness. Program outcomes are improved self-worth and empathy for others through healing creative expression in a support group setting and burgeoning confidence to embark on continued education.

Youth Prevention modalities include ***“Happy Reads©” at-risk youth safety and empowerment reading groups. Program outcomes are attentiveness to the medium of the written word (versus electronic media); knowledge of life skills including self and community safety, listening and imagination empowerment and greater confidence to authentically communicate empathy for self and others.

The mission also features an internet empowerment outreach via blog: 'THE POWER OF ONE' Blog which is updated often with inspirational quotes on inspired [creative, collaborative] living.

Ms. Rogers has served as the President of a network of the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), on the community leaders group at the Women’s Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation and in 2007 was voted as a board member of Xtraordinary Women – a member-driven giving circle formed to support women’s missions locally.

Rogers is the youngest daughter of the (late) Col. Howard L. Rogers, a former Chief of the Evanston, Illinois police department and a retired Executive Officer, Assistant Chief of the Cincinnati Police Department. Col. Rogers had a primary focus of Community-Oriented Partnerships responding through communication-based solutions in his more than 30 year of policing, igniting a lifelong interest in community activism in his daughter.

Her honors include: Cincinnati Editors Association Award Winner, Cincinnati Enquirer “Hometown Hero,” Athena® Award “Leading with Integrity” finalist, “Leading Women” honoree as “Community Advocate” and a certificate of excellence in Non Profit Leadership and Management in Human Ecology.
